INFORMATION

 Michael Forrest was born on the Isle of Wight in 1979 and was educated at Sandown High School. From there he went on to Kingston University to do a foundation course in Art and Design, gaining a distinction and Student of the Year.

 

 In 1998 he began at Camberwell College Of Arts, London, graduating in 2001 with a 2:1 BA (Hons) Degree in Graphic Design and was selected as a talent of the year 2001 in i-D Magazine, a feature entitled 'The Graduates'.

 

  Whilst at college and since that time he has exhibited his artwork in many exhibitions, both group and solo nationwide. In 2007 he won an Arts & Business commission, ‘The Catch’ a large vitreous enamel triptych is on permanent display in East Cowes, Isle Of Wight.

 

His latest creation is the vitreous enamel bar tops at Laverstoke Mill. Created  alongside Heatherwick Studio the large scale commission is Michael's vision of the essence of Bombay Sapphire which flows organically across the length of the Mill Bar.
